Ek Music Video!!!

In my growing up years, in India, television industry was booming. There were numerous number of new channels and entertainment was now really in our homes. I remember seeing my first music video in 90's - if I remember, it was a Baba Seghal song. My dad really liked him (I still can't accept this). This was the first time when I saw a story being told in a non-movie format. Interesting!

Because of the new medium and opportunities, there were many new artists showcasing their music though music videos. It was a trend where they had at least one music video for a song in the album - and if the song clicked, they would made more videos for the remaining songs. After seeing these music videos I would always dream of directing them. I had no idea what it took to make them but no one told me that I can't think (at least in my bathroom)! By the time I was in class 10, I had already directed a dozen music videos in my head (and my bathroom). I would act as a serious director in shower and will call out 'Action' and 'Cut'! I would save my producers by finishing the song in record times because the other directors could not get the concept or they couldn't handle the project! Can't get more crazy than this - can I?

In December 2010, I got a call from Niloy Banerjee (Potmax Productions) and he wanted me to make a music video for a song called 'Ek' from their critically acclaimed album called 'Shades of Love. He got my contact from a common friend. The song is an intimate romantic song - wonderfully composed by OHM Live.

Can you imagine any reason for me not being a part of this venture?

I shot the song in January and now working on the post production. It should be ready in February 2011. How and when to release the song for public viewing is completely Potmax's decision but I will keep you all posted on that!!

I did recall my bathroom sessions while shooting this song. Didn't tell this to the crew though!

Exciting days ahead!

I am attaching few pictures from the music video below.  Your feedback is much appreciated!
